Heart Listening

March 20, 2015 by Diane Leave a Comment

I am happy to announce a new group forming called Heart Listening. You are most welcome to come join us and be a part of it.

The intention of the group is to come together and spend time listening to, and practice speaking from, our deeper heart—the place in us that holds our longings, the love, passion, purpose and dreams for our lives.

We will begin with a visualization/meditation and then have a conversation from the deeper heart, which we often don’t have the opportunity to do in our day-to-day lives.

We will meet the first Thursday of each month, beginning Thursday, April 2nd from 7-8:30 at Inner Balance Studio, 1072 Route 311, Patterson, NY 12563. The fee is $15. You can register at 845-878-7800.

We have been trained through our education system and our culture to live from our minds. The mind is a beautiful thing, but as Albert Einstein said:

“The intuitive mind (which is in the heart) is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

As we honor the sacred gift of the heart, by reorienting and retraining ourselves to listen to it’s call, we can use our rational mind to serve in the way that it does best: to use its innate creative abilities to take the heart’s longings and dreams and make them real.

This delights our imagination and designs a life for us that is ultimately full of satisfaction and fulfillment—one based on what uniquely matters most to each of us.

When we don’t employ our mind in such creative adventures, we can get caught up in fear, worry, anxiety and obsessive loops about the minutia of living. Our mind is always busy, so better to give it a job that contributes to our growth and expands our life in the direction of what we hope for and envision for ourselves, rather than one which contracts us in fear.

The creation of anything new and full of soul starts in the heart as a passionate impulse, then moves to our mind as imagined conception, then on to the belly where we take action on the idea to make it manifest in reality.

In this way, we are balanced, living from the beautiful part of our whole being, creating a life that not only resonates with the deepest parts of ourselves, but also impacts all those around us with inspiration, hope and modeling for what is possible for us all.

I hope to see you April 2nd. It will be time well spent.
