Auld Lang Syne

December 30, 2014 by Diane Leave a Comment

Here we are at that sweet spot between the old and the new–fertile ground for new growth. A time when things slow down a bit, year end business gets completed, the old date book either literally or figuratively gets replaced with the new one–a time to look back at what went well this year and what you would like to go better in the new year.

A couple of questions to consider:

1—What was I really proud of myself for being, doing, having this year?

2—What graced me this year that I am grateful for?

3—What do I want to create in the New Year, that is full of potential and possibility?

The opportunity is here now to reflect on who and how we have been this year and to write a list of intentions for the new. Intentions that, when build into our calendar of things to do, actions to take, can manifest into real solid results that we can be proud of and grateful for this time next year.

What is it that you want to say this time next year about the state of your life? What would be a steady, but substantial move forward that could transform who you are? What resources and support do you need and want to sustain your movement towards growth and change?

What passion is lying dormant in your heart, perhaps covered by years of neglect, that the reawakening of would bring an aliveness you haven’t felt in a long time? An aliveness that would spark in you a renewed love for this beautiful experience of creating a life?

“And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been.”
Rainer Maria Rilke

This is the time to consider such things. Will you distract yourself with busyness and entertainment at the expense of real self reflection and the creation of new, powerful habits that move you towards a more passionate, fulfilled life that is beyond anything you have imagined living? Or will you go for it, make New Year’s resolutions that you proudly honor and that support you moving forward?

The choice is yours always. I’m rooting for you.
