There is a new venture starting at Westchester Community College–the Center for Coach Mastery. It is a coach certification program for people who want to become coaches and for business people and regular folk who want to raise the level of conversation with coaching skills.
I will be a coach instructor in this program come January. I am thrilled to have a new avenue to engage in the coaching conversation–one is that is about what’s possible and how to overcome obstacles to bring that possibility into reality in one’s life.
Imagine what the world would be like if everyone allowed themselves to dream the dream of their life and then actively make it happen, despite all the roadblocks, setbacks, distractions that pull us off course and fears that keep us living small.
In my work with people, I have found that it is hard for people to really let themselves dream. Hit by disappointment, feeling let down, people telling them how hard life is, they don’t let themselves go there. But despite these efforts to avoid feeling disappointment, feeling let down, people telling us how hard life is–these feelings happen anyway–it is just part of the fabric of life.
Finding the courage to dream and move towards making the dream real, no matter what the challenge is the journey of the hero in us all. To use the years we’ve been given to truly design our lives in alignment with what our heart’s long for, is to truly be actualized in this life and reap the rewards of deep fulfillment and satisfaction.
So how about it? How better to use this precious time on earth?
