As a speaker, author and life coach, I have helped hundreds of clients gain clarity, develop a plan, and take action toward their dreams by supporting them in exploring and understanding who they are, giving them permission to be their full creative selves, and finding the ultimate fulfillment of using their gifts to make a meaningful difference in the world.
My Story
As a young girl, I studied ballet for many years and was encouraged by my teacher to be a professional dancer. My soul loved dance and music. However, because of the limited vision of my small town parents, I didn’t get the support I needed to bring my dream of becoming a ballerina to fruition.
This pivotal decision caused a huge lost of identity for me. The thing that made my heart sing and that I was good at, was to become an extra curricular activity at best. I spent hours in distress asking “Who am I?”. This questioning began from a place of pain and became the spiritual quest of my life.
I began to read every spiritual, personal development book I could get my hands on, looking for answers and pursuing what it takes for a person to reach his or her potential and live a life of meaning and fulfillment. I have discovered that the most gratifying key to fulfillment is having a positive impact in the lives of others.
My Education
With my Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development at Ohio University, I worked with young children for 20 years, which attuned me to the essential person underneath the years of familial conditioning.
I minored in Psychology at Ohio University. This area of study ignited a curiosity about the complexity of human beings and a desire to help people find the unique way in which they can express the best of who they are, their gifts, talents and abilities, in the larger community.
When I heard about the profession of life coaching, I recognized that I had been doing this all my life, supporting friends and family to find the courage to step into their larger selves. I loved the wellness model of coaching, moving people from their insights into taking inspired action in their lives.
In 2006, I became a Certified Life Coach through the Success Unlimited Network, LLC. I am credentialed at the second designation through the International Coaching Federation, working my way towards the top tier as a Master Certified Coach.
I am a former member of Toastmasters International, a supportive organization where I practiced and honed my speaking and leadership skills.
I am a student of the Diamond Approach, a teaching methodology that combines Western psychology with experiential practices from spiritual traditions such as Sufism and Buddhism, including meditation and inquiry.
Who I Am
Like many of my clients, I’ve never been a person whose life fell into neat categories. I am a dancer, songwriter, performer and recording artist of two original CDs, runner of marathons/triathlons, sailor, gardener, yogi, coach, author, wife of twenty-three years and mother of two spirited teenage sons.
It’s wonderful but hasn’t always been easy. I know what it’s like to struggle to integrate all the various aspects of myself and get clarity on what I have to offer and how to make a meaningful contribution. I have been successful and I am passionate about helping others do the same.
